Would like to inc performance and am thinking about going with banks power pak with all the gauges and new torgue converter and exhaust brake. Has anyone used banks equip and were you happy with the performance inc. I'm thinking about driving to C and let them install. All comments would be apprciated good and bad.

Thanks

First, Welcome to the TDR... you will love it here, and your wallet will hate it. Now, onto the question at hand:

Banks, at least on here (and in my opinion) is overpriced and underpowered. You can get a lot more bang-for-your-buck by going with different aftermarket companies, and basically building your own system. You will see better performance and save $$$.

My recommendations:

For power, Edge Products for a box of some sort, and Diesel Dynamics for injectors. If you need a turbo, Piers Diesel Research is the way to go. . size depends on what power level you're at.

For Exhaust... Rip Rook's 4" system. Best bang for the buck from a great guy... nothing else to say that.

For transmission, well, this one is a very heated discussion, but I LOVE my DTT (Diesel Transmission Technology). There are others out there, such as ATS and Suncoast too, and no, I don't have any experience with them, but my DTT is awesome! (insert pom-pom's here)

Gauges, well, that's a personal preference, and you can get them from pretty much anyone. Personally, I like the Autometers and I have 4 Z-series gauges in my pickup (3 on the pillar, one in the cubby hole).

Do some searches on the boards (especially on transmission threads) and you will have more info then you could have ever wanted.

Good luck,

Josh

Thanks for the replys, Bob I'm located in Ky. about 1hr south of Lexington. I'm not very mechanically inclined esp when it comes to diesels, so would not be able to do my own work. I do have a diablo chip in at present and pull a 14000 # fith wheel but really don't want to buy a new truck but may have too,but what to weigh all option.

thanks

No don't do it

Do not believe them about what they tell you about not voiding your warranty. they are wrong but will never admitt it.

I too installed a banks powerpack tlc kit,,, my injection pump went out 27 miles later yes that right 27 miles, voided my warranty(only 42k miles on truck) and banks does not care, they just "brush" you off.

$2126. 00 repair bill for me, and no I'm not running the banks kit!! it will be returned to them, my lawyer is working on that part!!!

I'd wish that I had knew about TDR before!!!!!!
