Thanks, TDR Staff

If I only had an extra 150 large!

I just don't know what to say!!!!

Wife found another bat flying around inside the house two nights ago. Needless to say this just freaked her out 'cause I was at work and she was home alone :--) This is about the 5th one in almost 5 years. We do live in the country so bats are to be expected but OUTSIDE the house!I have checked the attic religiously in the past for signs of a nest or colony, but nothing. There is screen on the vents and a chimney cap so I can't figure how they're entering the house.

I was thinking of buying a coulpe of bat houses so they will be more inclined to roost in them than in my attic or living area!

I checked a few web sites on bats and houses so I would like any help you all have to offer.

My wife seems to think I need to call an exterminator but I believe I can handle this myself rather than paying an overpriced exterminator.

We had a bats getting in at one time where we used to live. They were getting in thru the attic crawl space. We found their entry point on the outside, it was a piece of aluminum flashing that had a small bow in it near the end of the rafters near the chimney. Hard to believe that they fit into such a small area.

Aw, you don't want to exterminate'm - they eat all kinds of bugs. You DO want them out of your house - which means getting somebody out to find where they're getting in. I think the bathouse idea is a good one - so long as they're outside, bats are a lot nicer to have around than bugs.

I wasn't going to kill him/them,but I do want them out of the attic/house. When I catch it , I will let it go free outside.

I will probably buy two small to medium size bat houses so they have another place to roost. And yes they eat a horde of bugs (we have serious mosquitos here in the spring and summer with a pond close by.
