I bought a couple of these Battery Mats from Don Mallinson at DC Car Care with the intention of using them under the batts in my truck. Check them out here:

By the way, Don's a great guy and I highly recommend the products he sells - just from personal experience.
What do you think of cutting a slit in the relatively thin battery mat so that the temp sensor sits "on top" of the mat and still contacts the base of the battery firmly? Will the mat material throw off the temp sensor or will the firm contact with the battery still be enough to let it work accurately?
Opinions?
