Battery Cap Removal

Size 65-60



How do I get the battery caps off without damaging the battery or battery caps. The batteries are now 5 +/- years old and I would not like them to die of thirst.



I searched the list and found only one post back in Oct 2000. It wasn't of much assistance, so figured it might be useful to bring this subject up again.

I just replaced my stock batteries and pulled the covers on the old ones just to take a look to see how much water was left after 8 years, The caps are glued on and don't come off easily. I broke one and the other one was pretty mangled. If you can get a set of the removable kind from Costco or any place that takes in old batteries you can use them. They seem to be a standard size, the ones from a Costco battery fit. The battery itself was not damaged.

They are maintenance free... you don't pull the caps.
