pick up a pair of Interstate 34 "blems" pretty cheap. was wondering if anyone had any experiences with these type of batteries and if there was any future trouble associated with the low price.

Interstate is the battery of choice for my. Not sure about the "Blems" though. Is it only external or is something not up to par on the inside?

I stay away from Exide, Delco and such. Especially the ones from Kragen Auto-they are junk. Have had nothing but trouble with those. Not wanting to start a war here, just stating my experience.

Our Ford van

Our 5th wheel travel trailer

Our Cummins pick-em-up

All have Interstate Battery "Blems"

The blem part is strictly cosmetic.

All Interstate blems, newest is the twelfth I have bought-no problems. Good for a year, no questions.

Yes the blems are just a cosmetic deal. They are still a good as new battery on the inside. I work for interstate and my boss won't order any blems for some reason. . i could sell the heck out of those.

Keep them clean and full of water is the best thing you can do for them. I have never used an additive but they sound pretty shady to me. I know more people use them in marine batteries than anything. There is a product called Thermoil that puts so nasty goo in the cells, not sure what it is suppsed to do. I know it will void the warranty if you put any wonder goo in an Interstate Battery :D
