Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Battery disconnect question

I left the batteries disconnected for a few days and now on acceleration i seem to get a significant amount of smoke than before. Does the trans or something else have a computer that resets ??

Disconnecting the batteries shouldn't cause a lot of smoke... . even if the PCM did a complete relearn... . the engine doesn't have a clue the PCM is even there.

I tend to agree with Matt - on a 12 valve the engine runs 99. 9% mechanically especially re: fueling. That is a mystery. You didn't just clean your windows and/or glasses did you? ha ha
