My OE batteries are dead in my 97... went shopping for Optima's. Nobody has ever heard of them! Where can I buy them? Who makes them? Die Hards are 900ca and $89. 99, but all you guys love your Optimas, so Ill follow your lead, if I can!
Thanks,

Brian

Check their web site for a dealer locator in your area other than that ????.

Check with Interstate. Their Extreme Performance line of batteries certainly look like Optimas to me! Actually, The last time I spoke with my Optima dealer he mentioned something about Interstate now owning at least some of Optima. Take a look at this link:
http://www.interstatebatteries.com/products/product_line/extreme_performance.htm

I don't know what is available to you where you live, but you should be able to see if an Interstate dealer is near you using the dealer locator on Interstate's home page:
http://www.interstatebatteries.com

Good luck!

My batteries just died a slow death,so I had plenty of time to shop around. Interstate is by far the best way to go for Optimas. I'll bet there's at least a dozen dealers in Ft Lauderdale.

I know exactly what you mean. Here in Erie Pa I've called every interstate dealer and nobody carries them or will they order them. I'm going to Columbus Ohio for a football game this weekend so I called a dealer there. He is holding two red tops for me. I hope there worth it! I called auto zone and they will sell a 900 cca duralast battery with a full 3 year warranty for 74 dollars.

OK!! Thanks everyone... from the Optima website, I located a dealer very close to home - a marine supply store! Unfortunately, they only carry the blue-top marine application batteries and the cheap one is $129. 95. However, the store manager called the number on the Optima brochure and located an Interstate store nearby, and yes, they have them in stock... I'll be headed that way Thursday morning! I will post the prices for your reference. Thanks again guys!

Perhaps I am lucky, I have an Interstate distributer right close by. They only had the yellow tops in stock but got the redtops in about three days. No hassle at all.

My local Interstate distributor recommended against Optimas (from him) in favor of regular group 27s by Interstate to give enough reserve power for the cold weather starting and running accessories. I saved over $100 and all from the Interstate Dist himself. New batteries arrive in the AM. All cables are being replaced at the same time. Just too old for my baby.

BCFAST,

You otta know better than to buy anything you don't have to at a marine store. When I was fishing we would get what we could at an RV place because they were so much cheaper on stuff with the same brand and part number. Check out the price on a 110V/12V/gas fridge sometime! That is,if your heart can take it. I don't remember the price of the diesel stove we replaced, but I was tempted to check to see if it was gold. The old one was smogging us out so bad we had to replace it.

OK guys, Ive got 2 new Red Tops! The Interstate dealer here wants $104. 95 for the reds, and $135. 95 for the yellow tops. The Die Hards were $90 with the same warranty.

Yeah, I've got them too. The stock batteries leaked acid all over the insides of the fenders and when I washed it, acid leaked down the drivers side fender and who's to know? I put her away for two days and came back to see my very hard to match Driftwood paint all but gone from the fender. #ad

My body man recommended the optimas and I love them! He wouldn't do the job without new batteries. He DID match the paint too. #ad

I bought Optimas (red-top) from a dealer that carries factory "Blems". The warranty is the same except it starts on the mfg date instead of the purchase date. Optima web site tells how to read the mfg date. The dealer let me look through the rack and I found 2 that were less than a month old. Got them for $85 each.

Last year about the first cold night my battery died. Mopar said one was bad and replaced it. 4 days ago on the first cold night they died again. Called the local interstate distributor and they wanted $129 for the red tops.
I couldn't bring myself to spend $300 for batteries. I finally found a good deal at Sams club.
