Check your fuses. My brake light fuse blue which caused the same symptoms.

I would check your fuses like rosebunch said. If a sensor is s bad in the ABS system the light will come on. I have never heard there was a problem with disconnecting both batteries at once. I have always done mine 1 at a time. I had no other choice being alone.

Brandon,

I have removed the batteries from both my 1995 and my 2000 pickups more than once. I have had just one out, and I have removed both at the same time, leaving the truck dead. I have never had the problem you described. I doubt that it is anything you did with the batteries that caused it. I would also suspect a fuse, but if it's not that, I'm no help.

Before I replaced my batteries they went dead several times and I used a charger to start the truck, every time the ABS light came on afterwards, but the brakes worked fine. Light always went out after I stopped then restarted the truck. Same thing happened for the last time when I replaced the batteries.

I just replaced my driver side battery and my ABS and brake lights come on after driving about 25 feet. All fuses and wires look fine. I cleaned my speed sensor but did not test with meter. Speedometer works fine. Any solution?
