Im fixing to replace the batterys in my 97 since they are knocking on 5 years old and I know if they are starting to get weak the Texas summer bearing down us will for sure kill them off. Both of the battery hold down studs are shot on both sides, I guess due to the acid eating thru them where they thread down into the bottom of the tray. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it, go to the dealer and buy new parts or is their a better and more economical way I just dont know of?

I bought universal kits from pep boys, trimmed the studs for length, the tops in the kit adjust to whatever size battery you have took 10 mins a side, and tossed the old stuff it was toast from age.
