I want to get rid of both batteries in the front of the truck and put a large CAT battery under the truck somewhere. My only question is about the battery charge sensors that are under the existing batteries. Will I have to move them to the new location? Or what??? Thanks in advance.

I always wanted to do that to mine too, It always had a nose heavy feel anyway. Those batterys weigh over a hundred lbs I'd guess. I wanted to find a suitable battery box, and mounted it on the frame rail on the passenger's side, just behind the cab. That would take some of the weight off the very front end, and add it where it could partially off set the weight of the driver, and the fuel tank. Most of the time batterys don't need service anymore anyway, so you wouldn't need to crawl under to work on them anyway. I've had mine out a few times, and never noticed any sensors under them, just plain old plastic battery trays.

I didn't see any sensors under my batteries the last time I had them out. Next time I need to replace them I'll probably look at hanging a battery case under the passenger's side of the bed. I was told that marine supply stores have all sorts of sizes - probably big enough even to fit a firetruck battery.
