As a related question, if you put a battery charger on one battery, will it charge both batteries since they are in Series on the Ram?

If they were in series, wouldn't the system be 24 volts? I think they are connected in parallel and charging one should charge both.

I had this message as well during one of the cold snaps we had (-40C / -40F). Turns out one battery had failed. Both replaced at the dealership as I do not stock them at work.
