I have a 2016 ram 4500 last night I was on my way home and the battery saver mode came on and a short time later my voltage started dropping to the point that the truck quit pulling I pulled over and cut the truck off then tryed to start it all it did was click I hooked my jumper cables to it it jumped up to 12 volts I let it charge for a few then got the truck home I keep it running and it stated dropping voltage I know it's possible a bad alnator but just want to make sure there is no major problem

comrade - id check the voltage at the batteries with a voltmeter. at an idle and at higher rpm. see if its charging or not. cheers!

When this same issue happened with my truck my alternator fried an almost took the wiring harness with it. There was a recall on my alternator. You might want to have yours checked.
