Does anyone know if there is a product out there to maintain the two batteries at full charge if the trust is not used regularly?

I think most battery chargers now have a maintenance mode on them. I was recently having problems and didn't know if it was the batteries or something else (turned out to be the batteries). I bought a Schumacher SC--600A-CA from O'Reilly's for about $35 bucks. It doesn't have a jump start mode, but it's fully computerized. It automatically detects the proper voltage, has reverse hookup protection and automatically switches to the maintenance mode when the batteries are charged. No gauges, just 3 lights to indicate the current operation. There are also chargers that only function as maintenance chargers. I have family up north that use a small, 3"x3" device to keep their small tractor battery charged all winter. I think they got it at Walmart, which means it's probably pretty reasonable in the cost department.
