Underneath the passenger battery is a temp sensor for the batteries... its so that the ECM can correctly charge the batteries based on outside temperature and the temperature of the batteries... I'm going to assume that this circuit is faulty or the senor is faulty and it can't read temperature. .

Yep, but its under the drivers side battery. If you pull the fender liner you can see it.

Wait! Don't do anything at all. Wait awhile (5 restarts, at least) and see if the problem goes away.

This is a well documented "bug". See, the battery sensor is looking for a change in battery temperature over time. If it doesn't see that, it trips P0514.

It's not uncommon for this to happen in cold weather if the wind is blowing just right. The atmosphere cools the battery as it charges, and the sensor complains.

I've had it happen to me a few times over the years. Every time it's a one-time fault detection that resets itself after 5 or so restarts.
