Battery Temp Sensor

Does anyone know if extending the wiring harness to the battery temp sensor would change the values seen by the control unit? I need to move the sensor about 8' from it's current location. I know that with some sensors, like the exhaust gas probe, the wire length and sensor act as a single unit, and changing the length of the wire changes the calibration of the probe/gauge.

It should not matter unless you move the sensor into an area that has significantly more or less heat than the OEM location.
