Howdy from the dry dusties--- Some time ago, I added a "clicker" button switch in-line with the main power switch for my BD brake(placed on the gear selector, so I can button out or in the OD or the BD with the same finger)---works fine, except could not find (Radio Shack) a lighted clicker, (main switches (brake and torqloc) are down on the knee bolster under the steering column), so I can't see the little lites-----no lited clicker, so half the time I forget whether I'm "on" or "off"
added a little red L. E. D. to the circuit (located it just west of the ashtray, so I could see it thru the steering wheel)... it's a cylindrical one with very low draw (built-in resistor) and it doesn't rob the system of any needed milliamps (tapped it between my "clicker" and the actual BD switch) My new lite comes on any time I'm "clicked on" and, since I never use the BD switch (always in "on" position) I can now tell what my status is without lifting my loud foot to feel for "drag" or "coast"... those lited switches are cool, but the business end is so big and clunky, the only place to put them is where they can't be seen... . seems like mini-switches with remote relays would be a bit more elegant,hmmmm???--- regardless, happy now
#ad
--- rich (due to P. I. T. A. coefficient, I hot-glued the back side of the lite in place, rather than use the little lockwasher and nut... the heat did not impair the LED's function. .
