BD Cool Down Timer - Install Questions

Just got my BD Timer (1081160) and had a couple of questions about the install. Truck is a 2007 5. 9 3500 Mega Cab Dually.



First, I have a Isspro Pyrometer with the probe mounted pre-turbo but I want the probe for the timer post turbo. Where have you guys put this. Is it best to tap the cast elbow right after the turbo or weld the bung into the downpipe?



Also, where is the ECM connector (PK/GY wire) found at? This is the wire I need to connect to my keep alive.

I have a 2nd Gen. with the BD timer and have had no trouble with it. You can tap off the probe you already for your pyro with good luck. I am of no help for the other question though. The instructions could get confusing but I remember the 05' trucks to be the most hassle..... as far as wiring.

Yeah, the BD tech said I could tap off of my pre-turbo probe also but I would rather not. I would like to more accurately mesure how hot the turbo is before shutting down rather than just how hot the EGTs are.



Anyone installed the probe post turbo?

If I mounted a probe post turbo it would be in the cast elbow and a inch or two from the turbo side v band.
