Shawn;

Sorry to hear of the troubles. I will be bending the installers ear over this one.

God speed in your call to duty. Did Andy get activated, too?

-John

John, I was selected to fill an open slot with Valley City along with a few others. Andy won't have to go this time around, he's a track mechanic and they don't have any track vehicles, so he is lucky that way! The 01 is dad's pickup, we just got it in Ohio a few weeks ago, if another dyno day is in the works he'll be sure to bring it down for you guys to check out. Mine will be up to PDR while I'm gone to get o ringed, ported, cammed, twinned, double disced, and who knows what else. It should be a pretty wild ride when its done so I'm looking forward to that. Anyhow, I better go for now, and thank you to everyone for all your support

Good luck Shawn... I have a buddy that left last week to go over there, well first to get equptiment ready and then overseas.

On the vp... that's how mine let loose. I was wide open and was messing with the switch and bumped it on... that was it, truck died right there. I've never tried it again, but I know that's why my vp bit the dust. Oh well, live and learn.

I've got an update. I went to pick up the new turbo this afternoon from the installer and he said BD would not warranty the turbo if a BD blow off valve was not installed. I am kind of locked down as to what choices I have because the pickup needs to be running very soon because the old man doesn't have enough time off to do the install and everything himself so I had to purchase another HX-40 from him along with the blow off valve kit. When the blow off valve is installed they provide a one year warranty on the turbo and blow off valve, so hopefully that will end this fiasco for a while! When its all said and done, $1200 for the first turbo, $1900 for the injection pump, $900 for the second turbo, and $500 for the blow off valve all I can say is wow, hopefully the spending will cease for a while. Either that or I win the Powerball very soon!

First I would like to wish you a safe TDY. I'm in close contact with some officers who just returned from Iraq and their experiences are not as negative as one might think.

Secondly... could this be the first FASS fed VP44 failure? What a shock to all of us (myself included) who thought FASS was the cure-all.

-Tim

Tim, I very highly doubt this particular VP failure was fuel supply related. I think this thing could supply more fuel than three of my pickups could drink at the same time!
