There is a new TSB out that is supposed to allow you to use the cruise control buttons to raise the idle to 1100 - 1500 RPM.

You can read it at http://www.portjeff.net/df5152

I say "supposed to" because I had the TSB done, but can't get it to work. I suspect that the tech did not enable the feature after the flash. It seems obvious that he didn't test it.

I plan to stop by the dealer Monday morning to have them check with the DRBIII.

There are 3 threads about this TSB running right now. Do a search on "idle" on titles only.

My friend took delivery of his yesterday and I tried it but couldn't get it to work. The way I read the TSB I assumed (wrong again) that the feature was enabled on those built after the TSB date. Guess not. I sure wouldn't mind having that on the manual trucks for the odd time I want to leave it idling for an extented period.

Sorry guys. It was late last night and I completely forgot this TSB is for "automatics only".

That still seems silly to me. You can always put the stick in neutral and set the brake. I guess there's some difference in the ECM code between manual & auto trucks.
