#@$%! im having problems with my exhaust brake,it is just turning on by itself when i start the truck and no way of shutting it off . I called bd and alll the tell me is to clean it thanks alot lol. :-{} I took it apart and cleaned it and it doin the same thing . Im wondering if its the control assembly . any help would be greatly appreciated its driving me crazy . anyone have this problem

nope and i tested the dfiv and thats working properly it has a mind of its own id bet my life on the control assembly the brake isnt even a week old #@$%!

I have the same exhaust brake as you. Mine also stuck closed once about 7 years ago. What BD wants you to do is to clean "service" the vacuum solenoid that controls the brake. This is very easy to do, however make sure that your prepare your work area as there as very small parts when you dis-assemble. I cleaned mine with lacquer thinner and then lubricated with WD-40, re-assembled and has never stuck again. I hope this helps you.

your sayin the piece where the vaccum line go into take that appart. mand if thats what u mean which part of it do you take apart i dnt wanna screw it up thank you

The vacuum solenoid is the one that has small and one large rubber hoses connected to it. There are also electric connections. This is the solenoid that need to be cleaned, not the big blue canister behind the turbo. Again be careful.
