Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) BD Lift Pump

Does anyone here use or heard anything about the BD Diesel lift pump they offer? I just saw it in one of our catalogs and have never seen it or heard of it before. The add says it is bolt on, supports up to 600 hp and extends life of the fuel system. It looks similar to other pusher pump set ups but quite a bit cheaper, they have it in here on sale for just under 220 bucks. Thanks in advance!

If you can fit it in the budget the FASS setup is a better investment. The Fass setup will lube the VP44 with pure diesel. The BD pump is going to push diesel and air into the VP44 and allow metal to metal contact on the moving parts inside the pump. The FASS setup is the absolute best thing you can do to extend the life of the $1600 VP44.

Do you have the FASS setup? Did you do the installation? I just looked at the instructions and it looked kind of complex.

I just finished installing the BD OEM replacement pump relocated to the frame (it is a carter pump). I was really suprised how easy it was and they gave more than enough parts. I went ahead and ordered a Vulcan Big hose kit that goes from the Fuel Filter to the VP pump on my 2000 2500 CTD. I have noticed a big difference already, no more shutter at high RPM. I took the advise from a couple of posts and removed the Fuel filter to get to the old pump, sure made it easy.

For the price I dont think you can go wrong. I installed several BD pumps. 1 OEM bypass on frame(15psi @idle) and a couple auxilary pumps. Very easy install. 21-23 psi at idle.
