BD short shifter installed today

I'm not easily impressed, and seldom see something that is easier to install than advertised, and works as well or better. I installed my kit today in a leisurely 45 minutes. Surprise was that throws were shorter than the one I drove a couple of weeks ago. Disappointment was that the shifter position was not altered as the previous example (lower and closer). Sooo, I visited a retired machine shop ower friend and two tweaks later with a tubing bender I had the shifter exactly where I wanted it!

Reminds me of a short shift kitted VW I had years ago. Doesn't go "snic-snic-snic" like my Sunbeam Tiger, but I'm still a happy camper.

After you installed the new shifter and before you bent the pipe was the knob in the same position as the stock stick 04 HO 6sd 4. 10 jake

The pre-bend position seemed to be maybe . 5" NE of stock. Now it is 2" left and 1" back from stock - right under muy palm as my arm rests on the console. Shifts are shorter than I expected.
