BD Stainless Manifold?

Does anyone have any experience using one of BDs stainless manifolds?

I’m helping out a dude with a cracked manifold on his ‘01. In general I’ve steered him towards a 3 piece, from either ATS, BD, or DPS.

I noticed Genos has the BD stainless manifolds on clearance. Is this a better option? I know the Steed Speed SST manifolds are supposed to be the cats meow but I think there's more into that than just being stainless.

What experience?...I got a BD stainless that was on clearance maybe 4 months ago, installed it, no issues. I don't think Geno's carries it. When I got their catalog it showed it in it but when I contacted them directly on it ( I was inquiring about manifold bolts) they said it was out of stock and no longer in production. I found a place in Pa. who had a few left in stock.

Thanks Bill. The fact that it's no longer in production leads me to believe it wasn't a big hit. Maybe safer to have him stick with the proven three piece units. I can't seem to find much for reviews or recommendations on the BD stainless manifolds anywhere. I just wanted to see if anyone started having issues with them such as after a few years of use. They're listed on Genos website on clearance but out of curiosity I sent them an email to see if they still have them.

@Woodenhead I agree with a multi piece manifolds being better. I warped an AFE Stainless manifold on my truck so bad it would walk gaskets out, linky. I now have a two piece BD from Genos.

That's just the kind of info I'm looking for. I realize your issue was with an AFE manifold but my fear would be the BD could have similar issues. As mentioned above, I'll recommend he gets a three piece. Looks like Crazy Carls has some good prices on them.

ATS 3 pc on my 98 12V with 300k on manifold. Zero issues.

Maybe it's out of production because the vehicles are already 20 years old and demand for it decreases?

No experience with stainless but I installed an ATS 3-piece in 04 = 14 years ago... I've removed and re-painted it about 3 times but other than that all good.
