Ok heres the long and short i have a 96 dodge 2500 with a cummins. i had the auto transmission done by a highly recommended shop. my diesel shop recommended a bd torque converter and bd valve body and this transmission shop. so after about 5000 miles it started taking off in second.

I took it back and he tore the pan down and found the 1-2 valve was scored real bad as well as the socket it fits into so he sanded it down to get me by " worked great by the way only hung in second like 2 times"

so fast forward to today he installed a new valve body at bd's expense and when i got ome same thing starting in 2nd?#@$%!#@$%!#@$%!.

so should i look for some other problem or should i have him do up a stock valve body with his shift kit or what? i am getting ticked.

Hi my friend:)

Personally I would follow up with BD to get to the bottom of the issue first. If you cannot resolve it and decide to have a valve body set up with a kit, I highly recommend TransGo's TFOD Diesel kit. I'm still running the stock transmission and torque convertor with the mods in my sig and I have to say the kit made a significant difference in the timing of shifts and lock up. When I first installed the FASS and Juice/Attitude if I turned it up to the 80HP setting I could slip the convertor unmercifully. I installed the kit in an afternoon along with a BD aluminum pan and it is like night and day. The kit not only modifies shift points but substantially ups line pressure to the convertor et al to hold much more torque than stock; Towing 8,000+ lbs. has also been greatly improved with the engine turned up.

yep everything has been tested and checked and on the 3 valve bodys he has had trouble with the valves and cylinders are scored and galled kinda like bd is just not looking at them and sending them out?

What I've read about BD over the years is they like to use customer's truck as test vehilces. I would go to another brand.

I would use Dunrites valve body I have replaced some of BD valve bodys with Dunrites and have had no problems with any of them If you use Dunrites valve body and triple lock converter you will get a lifetime warranty Dunrites valve bodys also lockup in all forward gears

good luck dealing with loren! i couldn't get any of the complete trans they sent me to work at all and after several months i bought from suncoast and it has worked great ever since. don't let a company tell you it is your truck and something eles is wrong. if it worked fine before more than likely it is the parts you just put in.
