Does anyone have the X monitor dash mount on their rig? I am trying to decide what guages to go with and would like some pics and opinions. any info and pro's and con's would be very appreciated. also would anyone in the spokane area with experience be willing to help on the install? I am a bit nervous about drilling the turbo.

thanks!!!

I have the X but it's mounted on the A Pillar. I have pics in Readers Rigs Gallery.

Drilling the pyro is not that bad, I was very nervous but it is not hard once you get going.

Come on down to Carson City and I will help ya.

I'm happy with my X Monitor. This is my first set of gauges. I like the digital read out and low profile. I've only had it in for a week.

Where did ya put the Pyro sensor? PRE TURBO? OR post turbo?

how hard was the install?

Thanks

Chris

I have the x-monitor gauges, not dash mount so no help there. not really used to them yet,I am starting to like them more and more over the isspro I used to use. one thing I do like is night viewing. I am post turbo on this truck, but I have done it both ways its not bad to do either way.

When I put my pyro in my 02, I had a helper hold a magnet against the drill bit while I drilled. It works great. I would stop often and blow the drill off with compressed air then go again. Same with the tap. When finished, we probed the hole with a magnet and nothing had fallen into the manifold.

I have seen digital readouts that really jump around between values. How steady are the readings on the x-monitor?

Mine does not seem to jump around or seem busy, it just does its job. I have no regrets.

The only negative is when the sun shines directly on the face of the guage it is a little bit hard to see.

I really like the stored values and the adjustable alarm settings.

I haven't installed any gauges yet... but there is one trick I've always used when drilling overhead or any time metal shavings could be a problem.

Drill through the center of a transmission magnet. A shop vac held by the drill bit is a good idea too.

I'd still go fishing with a magnet, though.
