ABOUT TO PURCHASE MY NEXT BOMBING ADDITION. I'M HAVING A HARD TIME DECIDING BETWEEN THE DDIII AND THE BDIV's.

WHAT KIND OF POWER DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO?

WHAT ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE BD's?

I KNOW THE DD's HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION.

PRICE WISE I GUESS THEY ARE ABOUT THE SAME. Oo.

You can't go wrong with either vendor, I sell and install both and am quite happy either way.

I would not suggest going to such a large injector unless your truck is working all the time.

Smoke and ring wash is a concern with a non loaded engine.

For a daily driver I would suggest a smaller injector, like the Bosch 275 RV or level 1 injectors from either vendor.

Have you ever noticed a truck will smoke without a load and smoke is reduced with a load.

DD= all good

Hi 777,

Im a fan of DD. I hear some guys really like the BD's though.

A stage 4 is getting pretty mean dude.

I guess for a daily driver I would be leaning toward what Ted said. I dont think you would have a cylinder wall washing problem with the DD3's though. ( just my opinion)

You know we got that little dyno event coming back up in March?

Hope you can make it back up and throw down some numbers.

Shoot Man you can always just keep your stockers and re-install them if it smokes to much for everyday use. :D

I would go with DDIII's... . But this is just based on my satisfaction with my DD products, warranty, and service. I really don't have any first hand experience with BD injectors.

I'm with Jim. I HAVE Bully Dog 4's and they are just fine for every day driving.

i dont let the truck idle much and if i have to, i always use the high idler. they dont slobber or sputter at idle.

combine them with an Edge or TST box and looook out.

you may need to alter your fuel delivery a bit. dont waste your money on all new lines and gaser pumps :D just drill and chamfer yours or buy new Ray T. banjo bolts (Geno's sells them). then replace the line between the lift pump and the filter housing. with a 6an line and fittings.

you should have plenty of fuel to keep the Cummins happy after that.

yes it will smoke, and yes, when needed, you can keep it from smoking too.

Do you need the pump wire connected for the comp box to defuel?

This sounds like a great way to go. You could tune for any situation that were to arise.

Hey Don, I will probably make the Dyno Day in Lewisville. Probably wont run the truck though. Havent done much to it since the last run.

Genos banjo fittings. Fuel pressure gauge. HPAF filter . And I have the JRE exhaust system on order. Dont think that will help my numbers to much. Still getting info on injectors.

I will definitly dyno after the injector install.

See you there. :D

Bully Dogs

I can't comment on DD's injectors as I have never used them. Sure is enough data base on this site to say that they perform as advertised though.

I had the BD 3's in for awhile, no complaints. I've been running the BD 5's for about 8 months, again, no complaints. The 5's are a real kick in the pants with the ETH and the EZ box. I try to keep the truck in a lower gear while running around town, keeping the rpm's up helps alot in regards to the smoke issue. Oil anaylsis always comes back looking good.

I have had DD3's for two days now, and I like them. I stayed away from anything bigger because I do not have enough fuel to effectively use them. The power of the DD3's is very smooth all the way to 3000 RPM. My max EGT is about 1300 with my wastgate set at 38 PSI (stock HX35) I would guess that I am at about 350-360 HP now. They definately smoke off boost, oh well.
