I've got the Bullydog Downloader and EZ stacked and normally run them with the downloader on Performance mode and EZ on lvl3. It's o. k. till around 2400 rpm's and then there is a big surge of power. On the Extreme mode it really surges between 2100 and 2500 with a huge flat spot that results in lack of throttle reponse for at least an inch of pedal movement. I haven't unplugged the EZ yet to try the downloader by itself yet so don't know if it's the combination of the two or the Downloader. I had the EZ for several months and never had any problems with it on any level.

Has anyone else had any of these problems or do I need to sent the d-loader back and get another one?

By the way, the power with the two is awesome and the clutch doesn't hold to well with the boxes turned up all the way.

I sense some hesitation with the double "yets"!!! Is the power that addictive?

In all seriousness though, how do you stack the EZ and DL? Do you install the EZ first then the DL or vice versa?

I don't have the EZ, but I do get some touchy pedal surging on extreme. It's really noticeable when the truck has not warmed up fully yet while driving at idle speed or slightly above. At first it looks like someone trying to learn how to drive a standard. At normal driving speeds, touching the pedal prduces instant back into the seat provided that I'm above 1500 rpm (stock was like this too though). I haven't noticed any flat spots in the over 2000 rpm range on my truck though. I have an '03.

Sorry if I didn't really answer your question!

It's pretty addictive!

I know what you're saying about the touchy pedal and all, but it's more than that. I got used to the touchiness in a day or so. This doesn't go away.

I had my EZ on already and just downloaded the BDog without messing with the EZ at all. I just ***-umed that because one is a downloader that it doesn't matter how they are stacked. Maybe I'm wrong.....

I don't know for sure, but I remember reading of other people having problems that installed the downloader with the EZ already attached. It might be worth a try to remove the EZ, go back to stock, and re-download the performance prog. It might not make a difference, but it seems that folks that downloaded the bullydog pup programs onto engines that already had boxes installed had problems.

I want to be a little careful, but I can probably answer your questions. If I am wrong someone will correct me I am sure.

The EZ does not watch boost to do fuel pressure. It watches the pressure curve and then increases pressure accordingly. When you add the DL it also alters teh fuel pressure directly and indirectly. Because of this the EZ is not mapped properly to be "smooth".

Hope that helps.
