I am running into problems with compatibility between additions like Hellwig rear swaybar and Pullrite under bed hitches. They are using the same spaces to bolt their equipment to the frame. Don't think that these manufacturers give a flip that they are not giving warnings when you purchase their products. ASK ASK before you buy or order any bolt on products for your new Dodge trucks... ... ...

uh-oh, I just ordered a Hellwig rear sway bar and it was delivered to the office this morning. Not sure what kind of hitch is on the truck, hope everything clears. I noticed you said new trucks so maybe I'm ok with my old first gen.

I also have a Mag Hitech rear end cover, was wondering if that was going to give problems, didn't even think about the hitch.

We'll see in a few days when I try to install the sway bar!

That's a problem you'll always run into and the more stuff you add to your truck the more you'll run into it. An aftermarket manufacturer can't possibly take into account every aftermarket item out there and design their products to be compatible with them all. The most you can hope for is that they did a good job of making sure that it will be compatible with all of the factory options. I've often had to modify aftermarket products to fit because of some other aftermarket product I've added. It's the price you pay.

A great way to deal with that btw is to post it on here if something you are going to install is in the same rough area as something else. Like in this case you could have put up a post with the subject "Any problems with installing a hellwig rear swaybar with a pullrite under bed hitch on an '04. 5?" Most likely someone here has done whatever install you are looking into and can tell you any problems you might run into. I've seen that done here MANY times and have always seen results.

I put the rear sway bar on my truck Thursday night. Was pretty straight forward but ran into a couple of little problems. The hanger bracket on the drivers side has the hole in the frame where it was supposed to be but the fuel tank sits about 1/4" away from the inside of the frame so I couldn't easily get the nut on the bolt. Took me over an hour to finally get it started on the bolt. Had to reach up and over the frame forward of the bolt location. Could just barely reach the tip of the bolt with my fingertip. Could not see the bolt, had to do it by feel. They had a piece of wire welded on the nut but not being able to see the bolt made that pretty much useless. I don't know if this is a problem with the later trucks or just with the 93's.

The other problem was the mounting bolts for the 5000 # airbags I have. There was one bolt on each side that stuck down about 1. 5" where the sway bar was going to be located at. Had to take the air cut off to it to get the clearance needed.

The bar goes in front of the rear diff on my truck and drops down under the pinion area so there was no interference with the Mag Hitech rear end cover but again, this may be only on the 93's.

Oh yea, the bar size for the 93's is 1 1/8" diameter. Thought it would be a little bigger but seems to work OK.

The sway bar made the truck stay a bit more level in a turn! :)
