2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Bearing Noise

I have bearing noise coming up thru the shift boot. Only there between 1400 and 1800 RPM. Rebuilt the NV4500, new SBC with pilot and release bearings. I have thought about the transfercase, but not to sure. I have tried the tc in gear as well as in neutral, transmission in gear and in neutral. Rolling down the road, and sitting in the driveway. This one has me buffaloed. Any ideas??
