I have bearing noise coming up thru the shift boot. Only there between 1400 and 1800 RPM. Rebuilt the NV4500, new SBC with pilot and release bearings. I have thought about the transfercase, but not to sure. I have tried the tc in gear as well as in neutral, transmission in gear and in neutral. Rolling down the road, and sitting in the driveway. Had this bearing noise before the transmission rebuild. This one has me buffaloed. Any ideas??

Thought I would bring this back to the top to see if anyone has ideas as to where to look for the bearing noise. Thanks.

Wish some did, have the same noise. I have also just done a sbc, reman 4500. Still there. U joints and center support seem good. I was told by a couple people rear end, noise is just transfering forward through the drive line.

I have not found this to be speed related. I get the bearing noise even sitting still in the driveway with both the transmission and transfercase in neutral. That's why I'm so puzzled. Hoped to get some other ideas before taking the tcase back out. I just get the feeling it might be a bearing in the front of the tcase.
