Hey all. To make a long story short, I picked up a Bed liner. Made by Penda Corp, in Wisconsin. Of course the picture in te auction was of an actual 'Ram' bedliner, and somehow the seller did not mention that is wasn't and OEM Dodge unit. He took $50 off of the price.

Of course, also unclear was that it is for a 2005 short-bed, not my 2001.

Question? What is the difference? I measured the wheel-well heights, they are the same. Tailgate cover fits. Where is the difference? The thing is still packed up in the cardboard, and about a hundred miles of flat-twine and packing tape.

If it does not fit, I will throw it back in ebay (here in Germany), and try to find the correct one. The only thing I can figure that is different is that the tie-down points are different... any help with infos would be great. Thanks... Jonathan

Better yet..... put it back on eBay; take the wife to Lyon, France for a holiday and get the truck Line-x'ed while there..... That was the closest dealer to you I could find.

Update---it does not fit. 2001 has a longer bed... 2'' longer. Tailgate cover fits, but that is about it. If it was short at the back, it would not be such a big deal, however, the 2" difference is from the wheel houses to the front of the bed... crap.

Maybe its not available in Germany. But something like a Line X spray on is a better solution.

Back in the day, I would just put a piece of plywood in the bed. It last for years, even here in Seattle. I even put one down over the LineX.

A 2nd gen short box is 6' 6" and a 3rd gen is 6' 3". I have a rubber mat (4' x 8' x 3/4") made from old tires in my current truck. Works great and eventually I'll add a spray in liner (like LineX).

(These rubber mats are available at farm feed stores. )
