Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
I am looking to replace my bed rail caps and my nerf/step bars. I currently have the DeeZee diamond plate bed rail caps which I absolutely hate. The chrome plating peeled off after about 2 1/2 years. I had a feeling that they were cheap POS's when I ordered them, but they happened to fit my budget at the time. No more DeeZee anything for me! I also have Westin chrome plated nerf/step bars. They have been pretty good but about 6 months ago, the one on the drivers side started to develop a case of rust and it's spreading. So it's time for replacements.
For the bed rails, I am considering a set of Putco Truck Skins. I had a pair of the diamond plate skins on my old '98. 5 Ram and I was pretty happy with them. However, with the WeatherGuard saddle box, I am thinking about going with the smooth stainless steel caps instead. For the side steps, I'd like to stick with bars, but not necessarily the classic curved nerf bar like I currently have. Some of the straight bars I have seen look to be better in that they offer more mount supports. Also looking at stainless for these also. I know that stainless is more $$$, but I am looking for something that's going to last. Where I live we don't get a lot of snow. But for the few flakes we do get, they put down about 400 lbs of salt per square inch of pavement.
So what I am looking for is NOT what you think is the best. EVERYBODY has an opinion about that. What I am looking for is what is working for you guys that have these accessories and have run them for a few years. Especially in the northern snow belt states where they get lots of weather abuse. What do you have? How is it holding up? Would you recommend other than what you currently have? Thanks!
