Anybody heard the gvw ratings on the single wheel 3500?

I know that the HD 03's are going to be built on pretty much the same platform as the '02 1500's. Is it just me or do the beds on the 02's look extremely small. I can't see how anyone could haul much of a load in the back of one of them without dropping the tailgate. Or am I just seeing a bunch of shortbed 1500's?

With the new design, the shortbox is 75. 9 inches, the longbox is 97. 9. Width is 66. 4, 51. 0 between the wheelwells, 20. 2 floor-to-rail, and 63. 4 tailgate opening.

I can't wait until they hit the showroom. Personally from the pix I've seen I think this will be a great looking truck. The half tons that I've been seeing have to be the shortbeds.

Bed Size

As in an earlier posted string. I checked the inches on the bed from wheel well to well and the 2003 is wider by 1 inch on the 1500. Lets just hope the 2500 is not that far off. GC

When the truck was in its planning stages (prior to the Daimler deal), Jeep/Truck Engineering got a lot of feedback regarding slide-ins and other bed utility options. Thus the wider space between the wells and the wider tailgate clearance. I myself complained about the small taillights, and that was addressed with the larger units with separate turn/hazard lights. (If you haven't been behind a new 1500 yet, the top light is the turn/hazard, the bottom is the brake, and both light up as marker/tail lights. )
