Since my truck is down, I've been using my Dad's truck as he is out of town. Driving that truck makes me miss my cummins more and more every day. Lack of power, crappy acceleration, and it shudders really bad right around the 1500 rpm range

'01 4x4 auto ext. cab long bed F250 powerstroke

I wonder if something's wrong with it. I thought the 7. 3's were better than this?

I was just doing some work on a friend's Flowerpoke, including gauges and a programmer. When we took it for a test drive, the first thing he commented on was how much more power it had. Without even thinking, I asked "seriously?" I'm glad he noticed, 'cause I was wondering if we did it right. To me, it just seemed to make more noise.

I just don't get it. For the market share that they hold (held), I just don't see the benefits over my Dodge. Power or even truck build quality. Whatever, he's happy.

I've logged over 500,000 miles driving them,(bread delivery driver)----there's a reason why i have a Dodge/Cummins in my garage :-laf :-laf :-laf

Ford has lost 3% to GMC in the last 5 years and Dodge has lost 14. 2005 had GMC and Dodge almost even with Ford nearly twice as much. It was 26/26/48. This includes 450/550's... which are not broken out.

I am a die hard cummin/dodge fan. I test drove one of each of the new trucks ford/chevy/dodge. Chevy has them all beat hands down right now. Next year might be different, but chevy has done one hell of a job answering the consumers demands. If you don't believe me. . check it out for yourself.

I just hope that Dodge comes out with the 4500/5500 soon, and I hope their 6 speed auto can measure up to the 6 speed allison. Cuz the only thing that Dodge has Chevy beat on (besides the cummins) is exterior styling. man they are fuggin ugly

not to mention that almost every chevy ive seen hook up to the sled has suffered from a broken tie rod because that ifs cant handle the abuse. Theres no room for ifs in a heavy duty pickup.

I used to own a 7. 3 PSD. It was the first year of the 7. 3 PSD and its got over 255K on it. Venerable motor, pulled good, got excellent mileage, never gave much in the way of problems (I was friends with the previous owner). But then I aquired a few extra brain cells and bought a Cummins.

In the last 16 months I've put 17,000+ miles on an 04 F-450 with a 6. 0 PSD. What a pile of junk (truck is good, motor sucks). Lets just say I hate running the AlCan portion when I drive the company truck. I'd rather be on an interstate where I can get towed easily to a dealership. It's broke on me once, once on my boss & once on the other driver. And the mileage unloaded or loaded is on par with a tractor trailer.

Tips on driving a powerstroke.

The v-8 diesels don't run like ours, so here are some options to try to help you out. 1. Get in the truck, and slam your hand in the door. Take out your aggressions on the truck. 2. Or just get in and pretend someone stole your Cummins, and all you could afford was this powerjoke again take aggressions out on truck.

Dad thought his was not running right, so he had me drive it. I sure was glad to get back in my Cummins (wasn't sure he would trade back)!
