I bought a used EZ a few months ago, was having problems with it and sent it to Edge. They replaced it with a new box.

The new box is doing what the old box was doing now. There are times it is working, and other times, it isn't.

Anyone experience this?

Can you describe the symptoms? I recently spent a while tracking down a nasty problem. I thought it was my Comp box, because under WOT full acceleration, up around 2200 RPM, all of a sudden, everything just "quit". I thought it was a fueling box problem, so I called Edge, they sent me a brand new Comp. Tried that, no change. I thought it might be a wiring harness problem, it wasn't. It turned out to be my turbo wastegate was opening waaaay too early, and instantly all power was completely gone.

So maybe if you can give some more symptoms as to what is happening, it could be something someone else has seen before.

What kind of problems are you haveing? All I can say about mine is hang on we are going for a ride. Got about 20k on this one works every time makes a little smoke, but hang on here we go. :D :D :D :D

There are times that it works and times that it doesn't. I have DD1's and when the EZ works it makes a lot of smoke. I can tell the box isn't working because 1. there is no smoke and 2. you don't get the extra boost of power.

does this happen to you...

the performance when the engine is at 170 or so degrees

is VERY much more,

than when fully warmed up - 190+

is that normal?

and when my COMP is on, and it advances timing, i hear a difference in engine tone, it that also normal?

thanks

i had that problem..........

mark--i'm on COMP #3. first 2 would just up and shut down going down the road... ... .

sometimes it had power, other times it wasn't even on. worked with Aaron out there... . got box #3 to work like a champ... ...

they acted like bad wiring harnesses but they'd cut out in Mactruck's rig too. hope this helps, tim

The EZ and Comp hook up the same with the exception of.....

The pump wire connection and ground wire on the Comp box. The grease is dialectric grease and can be found at most auto parts stores or and electronics supply house.

Radio Shack ... ... Di~Electric grease it isn't blue so you are just gonna have to deal now huh ... ... arent you ... . ANSWER ME DANG IT! ... . uh ummm sorry I need more coffee :{

Sounds like a poor connection

Sorry guys but dielectric grease dosn't tighten up a loose connection, or conduct in any way so it cant fix a loose connection its only use is to prevent water from getting in and keeping corrosion out,and prevent electrolosis from setting up,it is an insulator. Solder the connection if you want to eliminate intermitant problems.

Absolutely

Dieelectric grease has a thick strong film, to protect the connection. If you have a blade connection with the blade loose inside the mating connection the grease could conceiveably keep the two apart especially if you pack it full. Some connectors are are very tight e. g. plow connectors and will scrape the grease of . When you are trying to repair a connection take a pick and bow the mating surface of the blade so it slides tightly over the blade. If its corroded use a little file to clean the blade and try to clean the mating surface. or use contact cleaner, dry it of, only use the dielectric grease on the out side of the connection to weather proof it. Hope this helps Merv

To answer the original post.

If Edge sent you a new box, and it still doesnt work properly.

I would begin looking elsewere for your problems (but not rule it out).

Check all your connections, do some studies with time and boost and egt changes.
