Do brake pads get old?

Scangauge II..does it really clear codes?

ok so heres the score i wanted to put my stock turbo on top of my sb62 but people are saying they are too close to the same size to be of any good so here are my thoughts i want everyone to weigh in.

now for my new thoughts im looking at a goal of twins, chips, injectors, and studs in that order. now i want fast spool as fast or nearly as fast or even faster if its possible to get the air i need to get to the high 500s. now i have a stock hx35 that needs to be rebuilt. i want to put that on top possibly as a hybrid. on the bottom im guessing i need something in the low 70s mm range to make it worth while.

with that being the air flow i want to stack an edge ez and a tst powermax. injector options im thinking mach 4, 5, or 6s to get the fuel i need. i will consider other injectors but i hear nothing is better then the f1s.

now i know most everyone says that headstuds should be first and normaly i would agree however if i cant get them at this time i will set the wastegates to 50lbs till i can. so lets not argue that my mind is made up on that subject.

so lets hear what everyone thinks would work best for me

that compressor will be fine at 50psi... crank it up! :)

not ideal, but a lot cheaper/easier than twins. put some studs on it and run some water/meth to help EGT's

well i know the turbo is fine at 50 psi but i cant get it that high with my current setup and the turbo seems to spool really slow and i dont know why. this one is slower and lower boost then the other 62mm i had

well idk whats wrong i was all excited to get this turbo cause i heard all these guys talk about how good it was with my range of power and mods but i only hit 33 to 36 psi and maybe MAYBE 40 if its a good day. the trucks smokes a lot when accelerating even gently (2k rpm shifts) and the turbo is slow to light and doesnt hit very hard. not like i think it should anyways.

im pretty sure its closed if its not i cant get it any more closed cause the wastegate linkage wouldnt fit with the oil drain tube in there so we removed the wastegate linkage and wired it tight shut. i think it could still be a tid bit open but not enough to have this kind of affect

I'm not that well versed on VP trucks, but it seems like stage 5 injectors and a drag comp should be able to fuel a silver62

I got 55psi out of an sps62 with a 98 12v w/ a stock pump and injectors... with some DDP4 injectors on the same truck, I could get over 50psi w/ a silver 66...

Even a small leak on the wastegate could cause it to be slow. I think I'd run it as a twin setup. Or you could run stock hx35 and a pro52. Both would be fast setups.

I like my setup. It's a little more hp then you said you were looking for, but if you used your 35 as a top turbo and went with mach 4's you would be in the 560hp range. Depending on the year of your hx35 you might need a new exhaust housing to use it as a top turbo.

well its a drag comp hooked up currently as an ez so its not fueling like a drag

well i guess need to add some to this that i didnt before. first off a dead stop launch i hit lower boost then if im rolling especilly in second the boost will hit 36 to 40 fairly fast. however if im rolling and roll into the throttle the turbo will sit there and not wind up till i downshift then it will go. if i accelerate from a dead stop it will pick up and show 5 or 8 or 10lbs whatever is needed for light accelerating but when i floor it and the transmission doesnt downshift it will just slowly build up. i dont think its the wastegate totaly it seems to me that the turbo just doesnt run right. my feeling from it is like it hasnt lossened up. i know its looser then when it was new but it still doesnt seem that loose. ive seen better spooling turbos that are nearly seized.

your saying that with the stock hx35 on top and the silver 62 on bottom with mach 4s id be mid 500s?
