bell usb turbo ?'s

Who's running a usb and how do you like it? How does it compare to a B-1 or Hx40? How strong is it,will it handle a shot of nos? Also what kind of power are you getting out of them. Thanks for any info.

it's a decent turbo on top end, but barks, yelps, whines, huffs, etc every time you touch the go-fast-pedal.

I tried one last year on my truck. Spooled well, seemed to make good power, but ran really hot. I sold it to a guy in texas and he had trouble with it as well. He seemed to think the wastegate was faulty. Several people are racing and pulling with them, and doing well. Seems like some are good and some aren't.

Besides this individual there was another guy at least 2 years ago who tried one on a 24-valve and had mixed feelings about it. Wish I could remember who it was. Had trouble with it huffing too.

TS Performance seems to have some luck with theirs on their drag truck. Good times IMO! Also they have the full nitrous and propane setup on the truck too, not sure if its used all the time though.



Dr. Donnelly might be of some help on this subject too. Seems he's running one of Pius' chargers.



Can't really tell you what it can be compared to since I have no experience with them. Was thinking about getting one before I started reading up about the B-1 series. I think they will be good enough for me and my small quest for 500HP/1000FtLbs... Oo. Maybe in my next truck though, if a small set of twins are out of the picture.

The usb is a b1, just under a different name, and w/ slightly different stuff done to it. Luke's turbo looks exactly like Denis's and mine, just his has a wastegate system on it, and ours don't.

Yeah I would like some more info also. I'm on a quest to find the perfect single turbo for a 500HP daily driver.



I am/was looking at a USB by Piaus at Bell Turbo.



I need something tough as nails and will give me lots of power for Mach 4's or possibly higher if at all possible.

There might be some truth to this for sure. I tried many turbo's over the years and nothing works as well as twins all around. The USB worked very well for me and I had no problems but it will not control the temps on the top end. There is one way around it and that is N2O but not very practical for daily driving.



FYI Pius is one of best guys you will ever work with, he is top notch with turbos.
