Belly-up - Lift Pump & Injection Pump 98.5

Just had defective lift pump & injection pump replaced on 98. 5 truck w/about 155 K miles... ... ~$2000. (Does this sound about right?)



Guess it's time to spend some smarter money on a gauge to monitor the output side of the lift pump to prevent this fiasco from repeating.



Any suggestions on gauge to install on lift pump?

I have a Westach 0-30lb gauge on my 2002. I used both an 18" and a 12" oil line from the lift pump outlet. Then mounted the sending unit on the firewall. I have been well satisfied with this set up. By the way, New Carter Lift Pumps ( which is original equipment and the exact pump you will get from Dodge) are for sale on E bay for $ 159. 41 or freight pre paid in the lower 48 states for $ 164. 99.

Or you can usually find them at the Cummins/Freightliner dealer in your area for around $150

You don't have to pay sales tax on most E Bay purchases. If you have a tax permit you would not have to pay tax at the Cummins Dealer, but most will. Also $ 164. 99 shipped to your door is hard to beat.
