Following up previously reply. I just replaced the tensioner pulley and belt on my 98. 5.

This is a very easy one person job if you have done it before and have the right tool. The first time can be tricky.

If you have taken the tensioner off, be sure to get the locating dowel in the hole when replacing it. Be sure you have the correct belt, A/c or none A/c.

You need a long breakerbar with a 3/8 drive. I used a long torque wrench.

Work the new belt around the fan. ( Newer models don't go around the fan) and position belt on all the pulleys except the alternator. Notice that the tensioner pulley does not have groves and contacts the flat side of the belt.

Insert the breakerbar in the tensioner with the handle as close to the fan hub as possible. Pull the handle toward the passenger side and slip the belt over the alternator pulley and release the handle. Check to see if belt is in correct grooves on pulleys.

as a hint for routing: all grooved pullys get the grooved side of the belt and smooth pullys get the smooth side. just FYI
