My truck has 76k on it and I'm going to install a Fluid Dampener next week and I want to install a new belt at that time. Cummins does not have one for my eng S/N and the only thing I can find is a Gates HD.

Given the great longevity of the OEM part, would you reuse the old belt or use the Gates?

While the original belt may look good, it is 8 years old if it is on your '03. Keep it as a spare in the truck and go with a new one. Gates is a good one. My $0. 02

Neither!

After replacing the factory belt on my truck with two from Gates and being frustrated by squealing problems, I switched to a Goodyear Gatorback belt. Very well made, absolutely no squealing or chirping, and great pricing on Amazon.

I'd definitely replace the belt. I've had the opposite experience of JLandry. I just replaced a Goodyear Gatorback that was squealing with a Gates HD belt.

Ok, you guys are toying with me right? :-laf

My plan is to try the Gates HD I ordered from Geno's and swear all the way to the parts store if it's noisy.

My OEM belt started to shred with less than 30K miles. I installed another OEM belt, but have read numerous reports of the Gatorback being the best. YMMV.

Replaced my OEM with the Gatorback from Autozone, about $35. Will never consider another brand again, no chirping on shutdown, no peeling of the outer rib, this was an excellent choice considering the price.
