FWIW, vintage British cars use individual clips to hold their sweeps. They are not molded in or attached to the sweep.
These may be purchased along with a special tool to install them. I recently worked with the owner of a restoration shop on a TR6. I saw these clips installed and can vouch for the fact that they do not let go once in place. I've got the tool and clips now and plan to give them a go.

Took the clip from the outside edge of my old sweep and transferred it to the new one. Only way to keep it down. The new ones DO NOT HAVE THE TEETH on the center part to grab the metal.
Same manufacturer apparently makes these for everyone. If there are better ones to be had I'd like to know.

They have quite the assortment of things. Keep it on the road!

They do have the correct sound pad clips.

I got mine from Clip House:

Thanks! I'm trying. Rust Free '92 150K originally out of TX. (Surface on hood doesn't count!) Original paint. Reasonably sure 2WD saved it from winters here. Only 20K miles in the past 20 years. Interior is amazingly original. Had to replace the headliner but that was the extent of it. Of course the paint is a little "toasted" but I've used a "patina mixture" and she lives out of the weather. No intention to paint it anytime soon. Antique VA License plate = "PTINA"
The running boards have been on it since the get-go. They have lights in them along the sides.
