I posted here a while ago when I got rear-ended by a Nissan truck. A local bodyshop here did pretty lousy job fixing it, and I have been back two times already to get the doors adjusted, bed adjusted, tailgate adjusted, cab moved and a new steering column. The issues we still debate are the missmatched paintjob. I have never settled about how the truck looked after the repair, it kind of looked saggy in the middle.

Well, two weeks ago I was under the truck to put on a set of step-bars. While doing a testmount on one of the brackets I found dent in the frame just after the centerbeam/mount for the transmission :(

I saw my adjuster on monday, and he agreed that the frame where indeed bent and wanted to schedule me up with the same bodyshop. I then had to put my foot down and told both him and the shop foreman about my feelings about their work ethics and craftmanship. Well, now I can choose whatever bodyshop I feel fit to do the repair :-laf

That where the venting, but is there people out there that have experienced the same thing with their truck's frame? Was it ok after the repair? And do someone know of other weak spots on the frame where I can look for damage?

Now I'm looking for a good bodyshop in Norway, and hope my truck will be well again.

I started my career as abody man and have done a bit of frame work. im not really fimiliar with the dodge frame. but where was it hit? and how high was the truck that hit you compared to yours. sometimes the frame after pulling will have a ripple or dent from stretching the metal when bent and then pulling it back.

My truck was hit straight on from the rear. Bumper to bumber, I think my hitch took the worst blow. There where very little damage to the sheetmetal in the rear, even one tailight survived. The Nissan was a total, the cab where moved a foot back on the frame so it must have slided under my frame. I got a new tailgate, bumper, hitch, back window, steeringwheel, steering column and l. taillight. There where bodydamage to all four corners on the bed and the backwall on the cab where pushed forward so it jammed the dooropeneing. It didn't look that damaged, but everything where shifted around. Pics of it in my gallery

Sorry to hear about our truck. I don't know about Norway, but here is North East Texas, there are some places that will replace a frame. Even if the frame was straightened, it would still have a weak spot where it was bent.

I have had to replace frames from accidents before. if it was hit square in the rear, look for kinks on both sides of the frame. if it hits the corner sometimes it will "diamond" the frame pushing one rail forward. your better off being hit square. if it went under it may have pushed the back up so I would look on top of the rail to see if there are any dents. that would be why it looks saggy in the middle. the body shop probably let it go because its a pain to fix. but should be fixed. if you look online there shoud be frame charts with measuring points that you can check
