Awhile back I posted about my truck having a bad shake between 40-50 mph (Shake, rattle, and roll was the thread title). I finnally took the truck in for a rotation and balance and 3 of my 5 wheels are bent, some more than others.

There is a local individual with a set of wheels from a 2001 2500 for $300 with tires and hubcaps. Will these fit the 92?

Thanks,

They may fit because your rear brake drums are 12". The 13" on the 1994-9 Rams give the most trouble for those wheels. Put on on and check clearance on the front to steering and suspension parts. The wheels are inset a good bit, however, so may interfere with turning corners or be close to the front leaf springs.

Another option is to get Alcoa forged aluminum and be done with it. They cost about $110 in 16x7" from www.southwestwheel plus lugs and center caps. They are extremely strong. They look very nice too. Your stock wheels should be 16x6".

bent wheels

The late model Dodge's use 5/8 studs so the wheels won't fit you truck. Any 8 hole factory wheel from pre 94 Dodge and the "other" makes will fit your Dodge. Don't buy the "white spoke" wheels that are sold at most tire dealers either. These have a weight rating of only 2200 lbs and are not safe on our trucks.

I'll have to check them for fit tonight. I was hoping there wouldn't be any issues but I guess I should know better :)

Thanks for the quick replies.

I am fairly certain that one of the wheels was bent when I went down the highway median spinning around (with the trailer in tow). I ended up with one flat from that little escapade). The other 2 may be from overloading the truck. I have had loads of over 5000 lbs in it several times, maybe I need to make more trips from now on :-(

The Alcoas are set up for 9/16" studs but I imagine you could drill out the stud holes a little and use them. I had a set of 16. 5 x 6. 75" Budd wheels on an 80 Dodge with the 5/16" plate centers--they sure were heavy.

I've got a set of 4 maybe 5 off my '93 with about 1000 miles on them I would be willing to sell. I replaced them with chrome mods right from the get-go. If you are interested e-mail me.

Too late :-(

I just ordered a full set from a yard in VA yesterday. 5 wheels shipped for $275. Most of the yards were selling them for ~$50/wheel so I was comfortable with it.

Thanks anyway.
