Independent accelerator/brake pedal adjustment. I have always felt the differential between the accelerator and brake pedal height of about 2-1/2” was too much on my truck. If I wasn’t careful, my right foot would sometimes get caught on the right side of the brake pedal when transferring from accelerator to brake. Never once have I felt it was dangerous…. Just more of a nuisance (I realize some of you may be saying “just learn to drive dummy”). Anyway, simple fix to make my truck better fit me. Under the dash, I disconnected the height adjuster cable on my brake pedal (see pic, NO tools needed, just squeeze the connector and lift up) I then pushed the pedal adjuster switch until the accelerator pedal came up about an inch (the brake pedal did not move). Now the differential between the pedals is about 1-1/2”. Then I re-connected the adjuster cable to the brake pedal assembly. Both pedals still adjust in unison fore and aft as before, just the height differential between the pedals has changed. What a difference in driving this made for me! As an added note, this mod has made the infamous “dead pedal” accelerator lag seem much less. I know that I have not changed the signal from the accelerator pedal to the computer….. however, my foot angle now seems proper and I swear the lag is greatly improved. Best of all, if I don’t like it…. I can reverse the mod in a matter of minutes. However, I love the new “feel” of my truck…
