Best Alarm System?

I'm looking to upgrade to an auto start with integrated alarm. I have seen the DEI stuff (Viper, Clifford) and I think they are top quality.



What specific alarms are you guys using and why? I am looking at the 2 way jobs, which will show me what's going on with the truck.



I also plan on adding window roll down and a tailgate lock on a seperate circut. Possibly a high idler as well.

The DEI Python 881 will do what you are looking to do. Excellent system. Problem free for 2 years.

I was looking at the Clifford Matrix XRS models. But I will look at the 881 as well.

Yes. the install is not for the faint of heart though. A shop manual, for tracing wires, is a must. I have the install manual for the alarm somewhere. I will try and locate it if you wish and email it to you. It is large. As far as I can tell the manual is only available to authorized installers now. If you are not very comfortable with cutting and splicing into very sensitive circuits on you truck, I would recommend having it done by an installer. With all that said, it will be more than capable of doing all the extra things you are looking to do.

I had (just sold) a Crimestopper 2015 (2-way). This was a great unit. Remote start, turbo-timer, and alarm with a lot of extra functions.

Just another one to through at you to think about.



BTW, I sold it, because I'm converting to a 6spd and didn't want to accidentally start the truck while in gear.

i am using the clifford matrix rsx 3. 5, it is a great system, i have had 0 problems with it so far. it has a lot of functions most of which i will probly never use, i use the turbo timer, remote start, and keyless entry like there is no tomorrow though. it is definitely in the top five on the bombs list, i love it. i have heard my particular system is the best there is, but they are pretty much all made by directed so they are probably all the same. i bought mine off of ebay and had a friend install it, saved me about 250 bucks that way, but make sure you buy a new in box ebay unit. good luck

Can you adjust the turbo timer? I have a RSX 3. 5, but have not installed it yet. Can't find out how in the directions. Did you install the remote starter? I have a 6 speed and was going to make it so it could only be start with the transfer case in neutral.

I like the auto page set up my self that what I used in my ford psd and it worked great

the turbo timer is adjustable using the valet switch, it is in the manual, i just went to a buddy of mine working at the local accessories store, it took him about thirty seconds, i had him adjust the remote start run time to 24 minutes, and the turbo timer to 3, the factory settings are 12 and 1.
