Don't get a plastic bedliner. They WILL remove the paint from your bed, trap water underneath, and promote rust. Go spray on. (Learned this one the hard way. I was amazed after I pulled my liner of after a couple years.

Try a search, there is a lot of info on these.

I 2nd that suggestion, go spray in. Rhino liner, Line X and so on. Plus with these you lose no bed space, and it deadens the sound. Later.

Love my Line-X. But Rhino could be just as good. I think it's more dependant on the person doing the install, than the actual material. I have seen good and bad ones of both. I would recommend looking at the installers work before commiting. Make sure they spray up under the rails, and remove all bed hardware before spraying.

This post is in the wrong forum.

That said, I was duly impressed with the Arma-coat liner. Arma was founded by one of the guys that started Line-X.

I haven't found anything better than the Arma.

Bed Liners

I have Line-X and love it. However, I suggest you think about a drop-in liner after the spray stuff is installed. The loads I carry have sharp corners and dig into the sprayon liner. Other folks with other sprayin brands have reported the same problem. As for the load sliding around, that's why the truck has tiedowns built into the bed.

Sprayed on is the way to go. Check out examples of their work. Take a claw hammer with you and see if it will resist digging. I don't know the brand of what I have (bought it used), but it is perfect for hard use. Resists sharp corners and things don't slide around unless I do something stupid.

Bedliners incourage rust. Dust settles in/around the drain holes. Water gets underneath and makes mud. Eventually the holes ares stopped up because you can't clean them out with a spray washer anymore.

My Rhino hasn't peeled or worn through in 8 years of hauling all sorts of loads from flagstone & gravel, to engine blocks to lots of lumber. It IS dull, I'd like to make it a little shinier but haven't found anything yet which makes it look good.

I'm not sure why everyone says to run a spray in, I don't like them personally. For a few reasons:

1) They can't easily be removed

2) They tend to fade

3) The don't protect as well against dents

I use a slide in, yes they do wear at the paint. But I have yet to have one cause any rust. Of course that was all on Fords, this is my first Dodge. I like them for the fact when you go to sell the truck you pull it out if it is all beat up like ours always got when I worked with my dad on the farm, then have the bed sanded and painted and it looks like new. We always transferred the liner to the new truck, which you can't do with a spray in either.

Just my $. 02

Oh and one more thing I like about the drop in liners, I ride snowmobiles and the skis slide real easy on the drop ins. They tend to grab and make it harder to pull the sled out on the spray ins.

I had a Rhino on the 95 ... best one so far. The version I have now is still a coooool spray in, but not the same material. It's by Diamond Liner. It was $150 cheaper than the Rhino, but 1/2 as thick on the bed. Get what you pay for.

The next truck WILL have a Rhino job ... over the rails this time. ;)

I vote for Perma-tech . I had one in my '99 and it has the UV protection built in. It doesn't fade as fast as the Rhino liner in my opinion. They all fade over time, but the most important thing is the installer. The one I'm going to use will call me to come down and let me check the prep work on the bed before he sprays the liner. Don't let some just trained part timer do it as it can't be easily fixed and you're stuck with it once it's sprayed on.

Rhino is the way to go, 9years, still the same color, slight fade only, tough, tough, tough... . Dents? And your point is? Dont you think your bed is dented under the slip-in. And rusting away I'll bet from having the paint scuffed off... . Spray-in, thats the way...

Protective Coatings of Indiana in Warsaw, IN. Thick coat, will show you the bed prep and a reasonable price. This is my 2nd truck with one.
