I was wondering who has a good single disk clutch for an '01. My father-in-law installed an EZ this weekend at scheid's extravaganza and fried his clutch on the way home. He pulls a 14K fifth wheel and doesn't plan on having to many more upgrades. Just needs a good replacement. Thanks for your help!

1st For a new clutch talk to Peter at South Bend Clutch, you can't beat the service and quality( see links for phone #)

2nd, I didn't plan on any more bombs either, it just kinda happened

Ditto, call Peter. I did and he recomended the clutch in my sig. Will hold up to 350 rwhp. Plenty for me! :-laf

Yep call Peter @ SBC. He won't sell you more clutch than you need.

For only a EZ he will probably only suggest a Con O or his Rally clutch. The Rally is only rated for 350RWHP I believe, and doesn't get much discussion but its still an option.

Also check out Carolina clutch. They sell Luk clutches, cheaper, from what people have said they are just as happy with them if not more so. I called and talked to them and he seemed like a stand up guy. Thats where I will be buying more than likely.

If he isn't going to overpower the SBC Con O, I would recommend it. The OFE, while liveable, is a little aggressive (read, chatter) for 5th wheel towing when you're doing low speed maneuvering like backing into a campsite or covered storage. Of course, if he has a 4x4 with a 2wd low kit, ignore this and go ahead with the Con OFE.

At the end of the day, Peter won't steer him wrong!

Thanks everyone for your imput! He is currently looking at luk clutches from carolina clutch. Anyone got a part number for the luk clutch? He dynoed last weekend at 270rwhp & 770ftlbs and has a 2 wheel drive. Doesn't plan on anymore bombs, but we all know %#$T happens right! :p

Thanks again,

Brandon

I just installed my new Luk cerametallic clutch from Carolina clutch this past weekend. So far I haven't done any real driving, but as far as the pedal feel it feels good. A little more grabby in reverse than the oem. I will be towing my car trailer approximately 1,000 miles this coming weekend and will be able to tell better after that. Nothing against the south bend clutches, I just couldn't afford it at this time while doing my engine swap.
