We need to start a list of "TDR Friendly Dealers". I have 2 here in Texas that are real friends to TDR folks.

I have been saying this all along. If your local dealer won't work with you, there IS someone who will and ship it STRAIGHT to the dealer that would not work with you. It is called a "Courtesy Delivery" and it is the ULTIMATE frosting!

I think a friendly dealer list would be great. I have already told a couple of dealers who wouldn't come down on the price to check out this forum. I tell them that from this forum I know what price I can get and where... . I also tell them that some of these threads get thousands of views.

Let's face it they will sell more trucks if they can get a recommendation here, so why not sell at invoice or below?

Barry,

I hope Cleburne Dodge is one of your favorites. I have purchased two there and they are more than fair on the new truck and the trade... . CJ

Just ordered mine at Rothrock Dodge in Allentown PA. (an excellent dealer for purchasing and repair) They are giving $1000 Dodge rebate, $500 Holiday Cash, $1000 Farm Bureau Rebate (the $500 is double in PA until the end of December) and $200 Rothrock customer loyalty discount (have to be a prior customer for the $200). That is $2700 off a price that is real close to Invoice - call Scott Morgan 610-439-8485.

I am not affiliated yadda yadda yadda (I don't even get a referral bump, they are working that close!)

I did not think the Holiday cash was good for trucks ordered? Or was it just MY dealer? Maybe I need to go talk to them??

Rebates given to buyers usually have to be in effect when the vehicle is sold. I would get it in writing if any dealer from any manufacturer told me they were offering a current rebate on an ordered truck. Ford just hosed a ton of people by pulling the 2K rebates off the 6. 0PSD's even though a ton of them were ordered when the rebate was in effect. The rebates are still good on 03 trucks... they just have to be 7. 3's not the new 6. 0. I fell into that boat, as well as not getting the price protection they said I would have at the time I ordered. I cancelled the order and purchased another Cummins. Get any promises is writing to avoid a headache down the road. I could have been driving a new one 5 months ago if I had not been strung along... . CJ

My dealer told me that the rebates only applied when the vehicle is delivered. If they are not in effect during delievery your SOL. I would make sure that you get it in writing.

Steve

not my dealer he locked in the rebates and said that when my truck comes in he will gurantee the $1500 or they will eat the difference. what he does not know is that i have a $500 rebate card in addition to the 1500 that he is going to owe me when i pick my truck up:--) ... ... . :-{}... ... ... . #@$%! :-laf

In my opinion, DC is light years ahead of Ford in terms of honest business practices and customer loyalty promotion. Back in 1995,

I received a notification from Ford regarding my 1990 crew cab dually with 7. 3 Diesel. The card stated that although my warranty had expired Ford still wanted to help with any problems I was experiencing. I then took the truck to a dealer and pointed out three small problems. The insulation was pealing off of the negative battery cable (no big deal), the cooling system thermostat needed replaced and the electrical system fuse block was defective (the heater blower fuse kept falling out because of previous damage from a blown fuse). The dealer ordered the parts and said he would notify me when he received authorization from Ford to install them. After a month had passed, authorization had not yet been received from Ford. I then called Dearborn and was told by two of their finest yuppie representatives that "I had passed the window of opportunity. " I told them just where they might put their window of opportunity and that I would never buy another Ford and would not even allow one to enter my driveway! Later I was told that when the money alloted for that program was exhausted, the program was cancelled. That was the main reason I wasn't even considering a Ford power stroke when I bought my 1996 Dodge CTD. Did anyone else out there have the same experience?

CJ, based on the truck you now have, I think you ended up with a much better ride ;) JMHO

Isn't it great how things workout.

As per my dealer, my rebates will be good WHEN EVER the unit is delivered (hopefully before too long!). $500 regional discount on sticker, $1000 cash back, $500 Farm Bureau. If there are any NEW rebates, the old ones will apply and the the new one(s) will too. Changed my order today from flame red to graphite. :)

Pit Pull,

I am definitely happy with the Cummins. It is the third one. I have had a 93, 01 and now the 03. I have had three PSD's as well... . a 95, 97 and a 99. They were all CREWCABS. All six have been great trucks.

The same rebates must be in effect here as well. There is also a 500 regional discount on the sticker, the 1K rebate, 500 bucks of Christmas cash... until 1/2/03, 500 Farm, and 300 business rebate. I snagged them all. I hope all the salesman have their ducks in a row... rebates have always been applied at the time of sale not the time of order... may want to talk with a higher up just to get that warm and cozy feeling. In writing sure can't hurt... CJ

Have your dealer show you the "Gold Book. " It has all the incentive rules. Every dealer is suppose to have one. It has always said vehicles must be sold and DELIVERED during the program period. The dealer does not have any obligation to a customer when it comes to incentives. They are offered by DC, not the dealer. If the dealer is going to honor it after the program ends, you have found a great dealer. The money is coming out of his pocket then.

I understand that if the dealer kinks the date, he gets the incentive charged back in an audit. I believe they audit at the beginning and end of incentive programs.

final numbers msrp:38665 invoice:34732-300(nego. under invoice)-1000(incentive)-500(holiday incentive)=32932-(500 for avoloram tax lawsuit) my final price w/o tax and title is $32432

this is for :03,2500,swb,QC,slt,prem cloth,limited slip,side air bags,eth/dee,clearance lamps,tow mirrors,adj pedals,tow group,

DON'T LET THEM CHARGE YOU "RUST AND DUST" $400 CHARGE they claim they spray an undercoat on you truck BS.

with a little negotiation and some knowledge you can save $400 (rust and dust)+ $300 (under invoice split the 1/2 hold back)+incentives=:D

Bob Martin called me yesterday. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: TDR member ORDERED trucks are $200 BACK of invoice. In stock trucks are INVOICE. You can only get the TDR deal thru Bob in the Fleet Dept.

The boss ate him out pretty well when he told him what he was going to offer. Bob simply asked him if he wanted to sell trucks or store them.

Also, whatever rebates are in place at the time of sale are deducted from the invoice too... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

The TDR is coming of age. THEY ARE STARTING TO LISTEN TO US!!!

HE WHO HAS THE GOLD MAKES THE RULES!
