I've been procrastinating on my clutch and if i wait much longer, it's gonna leave stranded somewhere inconvenient.

Who has the best deal on Southbend clutch kits?

I just paid 1700. 00 on a SMF and SDD 3250 with the hydraulics upgrade, don't know about any savings though, I bought it from standard transmission in Tucson when Richard Poels inspected the transmission which was extra.

On edit, that price included the bearing kit, the clutch kit part number SDD3250-GK was 1543. 06, to be exact.

Looking at your sig, the kit most of us here are referring to is for the G56 and has a Solid flywheel as a kit. I wished I could say I got a smoking deal, but I think I paid mfg. suggested retail. I sure wish I had my NV5600 so I could convert it to my 6. 7.

So far, so good on my NV5600 and I've been getting around 120k out of stock OE clutches. Pretty good for pulling a heavy 36' 5ver an average of once a month, hauling hay etc etc. I'll try the Southbend this time and see what happens. Compared to OE, it's hard to beat a clutch kit that includes a flywheel for under $1k. Time will tell.

Regcabguy- can't argue the shifting complaint. The NV5600 is a pig to shift smoothly. I don't care though; my wife gets us home when I've enjoyed too many adult beverages.

When I first got my 04. 5 CTD I had trouble shifting my NV5600 from 4th to 5th, for some reason I would always find 3rd, after a couple times, I just learned to shift it slow and over exaggerate the shifting movement when going to 5th. I think I was worried about shifting into reverse, but I never did mistake it for 5th.
