Best Fast Idle for '03s

Can't seem to find a easy and less expensive method to add fast idle to an '03 6sp. Done lots of searches. Is there a easy to add fast idle or are we SOL. Being able to idle up right away, to a higher rpm, and idle up when it is warmer out would be nice. All my older mechanical trucks had a hand throttle which I guess I could try and install if worse came to worse.

I'm running a DSG idler, and discuss the installation here.



As to whether that's "the best", I don't know. At first I ordered a BD idler, but quickly became very disappointed in their level of customer service and product knowledge when they couldn't seem to come up with one that worked with my APPS. What I like about the BD unit is it's apparently load-sensitive, so it will hold the set RPM regardless of engine load. I no longer see it listed on their website.



The DSG idler, on the other hand, is equivalent to stepping on the throttle, which makes it inappropriate for use with a PTO. But all I wanted it for was warmup in cold weather, and it works fine for that.
